Print Spooler Error

I have run into this problem on multiple computers and this is a quick resolution. You might have to do this Safe Mode if it isn’t resolved in Normal Mode.

  • Turn off the attached printers.
  • Click Start, type “Services.msc” (without the quotation marks) in the Start Search box and press Enter.
  • Double-click “Printer Spooler” in the Services list.
  • Click Stop and click OK.
  • Click Start, type “%WINDIR%\system32\spool\printers” in the Start Search box and press Enter, delete all files in this folder.
  • Go to C:\Windows\System32\Spool\Drivers\w32x86 and \x64 and delete the files and folders
  • Click Start, type “Services.msc” (without the quotation marks) in the Start Search box and press Enter.
  • Double-click “Printer Spooler” in the Services list.
  • Click on Start. In the Startup Type list, make sure that “Automatic” is selected and click OK.
  • Now turn your printer back on and restart the service.

note: printer/s might need to be reinstalled after this is completed
