After months of rediculously slow scan to email issues on all of our HP MFP printers, I finally have a 10 second smtp authentication or less. I don’t want to relay through a local SMTP server, in case users decide to email scans directly to outside email addresses. The last thing I need is SPAM filters on my back because of a few scans.
I finally tried something new in the settings. I noticed that the IPv6 settings were automatically getting assigned, even though my network doesn’t have IPv6 DNS configured.
I went to the HP MFP 400 and MFP 200 and disabled IPv6. My SMTP authentication went from minutes to less than 10 seconds. Time for celebration brews!
I hope this helps someone else out there.
